What is OriginAI?

OriginAI is where you keep the product spec your coding agents implement. You write screens, states, roles, and rules, publish a release, and Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex reads that release — instead of last week's chat. It is not Cursor Origin, getorigin.io, or a no-code app builder.

How do coding agents connect to OriginAI?

Run npx originai login, then npx originai link --project <id>. Install the skill with npx skills add 21stware/originai-context. Prefer MCP tools when connected (npx originai mcp locally, or https://mcp.getoriginai.com with a token); otherwise the originai CLI. Agents read the latest published release.

Is OriginAI free to start?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Free includes spec generation, releases, and CLI/MCP — no card. It is capped at 3 projects, 30 in-app AI turns per day, 2 access tokens, and 1 GitHub spec-review connection. CLI and MCP calls do not use the turn quota. Free is the trial.
